What Should the Electric Ford Focus Sound Like?
Ford will soon deliver the 2012 all-electric Focus, and part of the package will be an artificial sound when the car moves at low speed. Ford has released four candidate sounds. Which sounds best to you? To give some background, the National Highway Traffic Safety Association, urged by disabled advocacy groups, is writing rules that require automakers to install the sounds (no vanity or custom tones allowed, alas). This way, an electric car is less likely to strike the blind or those with limited sight, and more likely to wow those who think that all new gadgets should be accompanied by special effects.
